From Matzah to Matzav: The Current Crisis in Israel
The Matzav or "the situation is how Israelis refer to the latest round of violence between themselves and the Palestinians. Matzah alludes to the Passover 2000 suicide bombing at the Park Hotel in Netanya in which 28 Israelis were killed and 140 wounded, and after which Israel began its campaign against terrorism in the West Bank and Gaza.
