Similar to the legendary TV show, 15 finalists will be selected to sing and, by the finals on Wednesday, August 8, we will crown a new CAJE IDOL.

Several prizes will be offered, including an exclusive "meet and greet," CDs, beautiful Judaica, and the grand prize of full conference fees for CAJE 33! Everyone will be a winner.

Vocalists will have the choice of performing with an accomplished piano/guitar/percussion trio or with prerecorded tracks that they will supply. Judging will be based on popular vote of the audience in attendance.

We need YOU to send in an mp3 of your best performance of a Jewish "cover" tune. Pick any of your favorites from the standard Jewish repertoire that best showcases what YOU can do. It doesn't have to be fancy...even "a capella" will work.

Because this is not a songwriting competition, we urge finalists to choose songs that are well known, allow vocal showmanship and are most likely make the audience plotz with excitement and emotion.

This contest is open to anyone registered for the CAJE 32 conference who does not already have a performance slot booked for this year's evening programming. Be brave! Step up to the plate (or mike!)
